As a congregation, we have made the commitment to you to provide a Daily Morning Minyan, every day, 365 days a year, and evening minyan upon request. Please complete a Yahrzeit request, if applicable. As a congregant, Temple Beth Ahm Yisrael needs you to assure that the required minyan quorum is present. We have mourners who desire to fulfill the mitzvah of reciting Mourner's Kaddish for their loved one who depend on you. Please do not let your fellow Temple members down! Please attend! There is no dress code for our Minyan. Bring your children and your friends!
Monday through Friday mornings *
Join us for a special interactive and ruach-filled Shabbat morning service with games, songs, and prayers for our youngest learners in kindergarten through second grade. Grown-ups welcome!
Join us in room five for songs, dance, games, stories, snacks, and celebration. After our very own kiddush, we often join the rabbis on the bimah in the main service for Adon Olam and kiddush for the entire congregation!
Mini-Minyan meets twice a month from 10:30 am – 12 noon, led by a team of our early childhood educators, Morah Heidi Slurzberg, Morah Meggie O’Dell, and our teen madrichim (leaders). We look forward to celebrating Shabbat with you!
Mini-minyan is for our children in kindergarten through second grade, and meets twice a month in room 5 from 10:30-12 noon. Please check the Google calendar for upcoming dates.
Our junior congregation is an exciting service where our older students in grades3-6 learn about the weekly parashah (Torah portion) and practice their prayer-leading skills!
Youth services meet every Shabbat before a Sunday religious school session. If there is no religious school on a Sunday, there are no youth services the preceding Shabbat.
Students in grades 3-6 are required to attend at least twelve (12) services during the school year; students who attend more than eighteen (18) or more receive a certificate and a gift at the end of the school year.
On the first Friday of the month, at 6:30 pm, at Temple Beth Ahm Yisrael we have our very special, once-a-month musical, family-friendly Friday night Kabbalat Shabbat service – Shabbat Alive!
Over the course of the school year, many of our Shabbat Alive! services feature the participation of a different religious school class, as well as our TBAY Shabbat Alive! Band!. It is a great opportunity for community members of all ages to celebrate Shabbat in song together. Many months we continue the celebration with a communal meal prepared by the TBAY Culinary Institute members, often with a different international theme.
