Wondering what we discussed this past Shabbat?

On Saturday, we discussed the daughters of Tzelof’chad coming before Moses, Eleazar the priest, the chieftains, and the whole assembly. What was their purpose in addressing Moses and Eleazar together? And what was their purpose in doing so infront of everyone? One possibility presented was that they wanted to make sure both Moses and Eleazar were there together so they got the same answer. And this could be why they wanted the whole assembly there – perhaps they thought it was important for all to hear. It may have been a way for all the women to be there. Or it could have been that it was the only time they could get an audience with Moses and Eleazar! We had a great discussion. You can view the Source Sheet here.
