Chanukah, the Festival of Lights, is a fun opportunity to join together as a community. We light our giant Chanukiah (special Chanukah menorah) outside each night and then celebrate with food and fun.
Different members of our community lead the lighting each night: our Early Childhood Program children and parents and teachers, our religious school families and teachers, Men’s Club, Women’s League, the TBAY officers and the TBAY Board, our teens in the HaMakom Jewish community high school program, and our tikkun olam volunteers.
And Chanukah is a great time for social celebrations! Our HaMakon teens enjoy a donut truck and games like Jeopardy, our Women’s League holds its annual Chanukah party and gift exchange, and our Shorashim families enjoy a special Chanukah dinner with latkes prior to Friday night services.
We have special morning services during the Festival, including Torah reading and Hallel chanting.
